Terms of service

1. About these terms

By creating or using a DNSVerify account, you agree to these terms and the Acceptable Use Policy. If you use DNSVerify for an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms for it.

2. The service

DNSVerify checks selected domain signals, including public DNS records, registration information and Certificate Transparency data. It may record baselines and changes, present status assessments and send alerts. Features, check intervals, history limits and account allowances may change as the service develops.

The service is currently an invitation-only beta. Beta features may be incomplete, changed or withdrawn and may occasionally produce delayed, incomplete or incorrect results.

3. Accounts and security

You must provide an email address you control, keep your password and sessions secure, and promptly tell us if you suspect unauthorised access. You are responsible for activity through your account. You must not share access in a way that bypasses an account or domain limit.

4. Authority to monitor domains

You may add or monitor only domains that you own, administer or are expressly authorised to monitor. DNSVerify may offer or require a DNS TXT record or another verification step for particular features. Unverified domains may use a less frequent monitoring schedule or have access to fewer features, as shown in the service.

5. Your responsibilities

You remain responsible for your domains, DNS, registrar, hosting, email, certificates, renewal arrangements and security response. You must independently confirm important findings before acting on them. DNSVerify is a monitoring aid and does not manage, renew, secure or repair a domain on your behalf.

6. Plans and limits

Accounts may have different domain, feature or usage limits. Current limits are shown in the service. If paid plans are introduced, pricing and any additional payment terms will be shown before purchase; these terms do not authorise an undisclosed charge.

7. Availability and changes

We aim to operate the service carefully, but do not promise uninterrupted availability, a particular check time, detection of every change, or permanent retention of results. Maintenance, upstream failures, rate limits, registry behaviour, DNS caching and third-party data gaps can affect results.

8. Suspension and termination

We may limit or suspend checks while allowing account access, suspend login access, or close an account where reasonably necessary for security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, non-payment of any future paid service, or a material breach of these terms. Where appropriate, we will try to explain the action and allow a reasonable opportunity to remedy it.

You may stop using DNSVerify at any time and may ask us to close your account. Some limited records may be retained where reasonably required for security, dispute handling or legal obligations, as described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Intellectual property

DNSVerify and its software, design and original content remain ours or our licensors'. You retain rights in information you submit. You give us the limited permission needed to process that information and query relevant public services to provide, protect and improve DNSVerify.

10. Third-party services

DNSVerify relies on external DNS resolvers, registries, registrars, RDAP and WHOIS services, Certificate Transparency logs, certificate authorities, hosting, email and security providers. We do not control their availability, accuracy or policies.

11. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Subject to that, DNSVerify is provided on an “as available” basis and we are not responsible for losses caused solely by inaccurate or unavailable third-party data, a missed or delayed alert, or a decision made without independently checking an important finding.

While the service is provided without charge, our total liability arising from it will not exceed £100, to the extent permitted by law. If a paid service is introduced, any different liability terms will be presented with that service.

12. Changes and contact

We may update these terms as the service changes. Material changes will be identified on this page and, where appropriate, notified to account holders. Continued use after an update takes effect means the updated terms apply.
